III. RESEARCH ON CUBISM

In this chapter, we will examine my previous research on Cubism. Cubism has been one of my greatest inspirations behind Hypercubism, and the visual implementation of Hypercubism is very close to the principles of traditional Cubism. The pictorial research shows my research on Cubism through painting, and the conceptual research explores my reflections on Cubism, its history, and my views on dimensions. The chapter ends with a focus on the interaction between Cubism and Hypercubism.

Who i am?

I am Anssi Matias Miettinen.

I was passionate about drawing and painting with watercolors as a child, and I did it during elementary school lessons and a few other times in my childhood and adolescence. The year of the last drawing I found is 2006.

2014 marked the beginning of an intense era of change and introspection. During this time, I broke into myself and went through my very hectic life with different methods of self-development as well as intensive self-examination. In the early summer of 2017, I grabbed the brush again, started painting.

My works emerge from the imagination, from a deep thought. There is a strong presence in my works of living life, striving to understand life, and the depth of reality and the unpredictable wave of being and living. I have gone deep and let it show.

My analytical mind is constantly debating in the multidimensional reality created by perspective, dimensions, and experience that I seek to embody through the brush on canvas.

I don’t want to explain too much what I see or experience, I bring it all out in my paintings and writings. I want everyone to interpret what they see in their own way, as I would like everyone to do in their personal lives.
